Techflex Case Mod Sleeving Kit Review

Manufacturer: Techflex
Author: Brymo

Intro:

Have you modded everything you possibly could in your case? How about those wires? I am sure you could always improve your wire management! Techflex’s Case Mod Sleeving is a great place to start!

Packaging:

Just like anything from Xoxide.com, the packaging was superb. The package ship with USPS from Pennsylvania and it still had a very decent shipping time. The box was small, just enough for the product, it was also wrapped with packing paper. From opening the box to exposing the sleeving container I knew I was in for a great final touch to my case. The container was small, but it sure held a punch. From opening the container the sleeving jumped out from all sides. Here are some pictures to show how it was packaged.

Contents:

  • 10 ft. 1/8" sleeving
  • 10 ft. 1/4" sleeving
  • 5 ft. 3/8" sleeving
  • 5 ft. 1/2" sleeving
  • 12 tie wraps
  • 1 ft. 9 mm heat shrink tubing
  • 1 ft. 18 mm heat shrink tubing
  • 6 in. 24 mm heat shrink tubing

Features:

  • Easy to install
  • Put the finishing touch on your custom case mod
  • Reduces case heat by improving airflow around critical components
  • Sleeving expands up to 150% to fit over plugs and connectors

Installing:

When I started to install or as “modders” would call it “sleeve” the wires. I was very curious on how it would expand, and if it would expand enough. I was sure impressed on how much the sleeving expanded! It covered all the wires, plugs, connectors, and any other wires that I needed to sleeve. The actual sleeving is made out of some very tough braided nylon material. The braided part allows the sleeving to expand to its fullest content. The easiest way to install the sleeving over long wire runs is to simply “walk” the sleeve down the length of the wire. Just push the slack sleeving onto the end of the wire and slide it down the entire run. When you reach the end of the installation, slide your hands along the entire length to smooth out the sleeving and produce a finished look. Then finish off the ends with heatshrink, when heat is applied it will shrink and make the ends tight and complete.

Advice:

Some advice I would give while using Techflex Case Mod Sleeving.

· While cutting to the right measurement, make sure to use a hot knife or scissors so you seal the end of the sleeve also it prevents fray ends.

· If you do fray an end, just use a lighter or some type of heat source to melt the ends. This will stop fraying.

· Make sure to cut a little more then you measured. Because of the expandable part of the sleeving, it will cause the length to slightly be shorter than what your first cut was.

· When the ends are cut and sealed, flare them slightly with your fingers to allow your wires to slip in easily.

Pros:

· The amounts of sleeving you receive.

· Heatshrink works very well, and very fast.

· Has a great final look to your case, and wires.

· Helps with heat.

· Keeps wires cleaned up.

· Great price for all you get.

Cons:

· There is enough heatshrink, but there could be more.

· The fraying of ends is annoying.

· If you get your finger stuck in a sleeve, it is hard to remove.

· Should be more Zip Ties.

Conclusion:

Wow! Techflex’s Case Mod Sleeving is such a great product! It has helped many people fix up their cases to their likings, while making it cheap, have everything you want in a one kit, and making it professional looking. I loved this product so much; I have bought two kits, just to have more of this great product! The main con that I believe is the biggest is the heatshrink. I really wish there was more, but with that price I can not complain too much. In conclusion of this review, I would recommend Techflex’s Case Mod Sleeving to anyone that wants to spice up their case, making it more “original” while not breaking their wallet!
